Intrigon LLC offers robust analytical calculation services to support your engineering projects. By utilizing first-principles analytical calculation to determine the physical regimes where the models reside, we support the modeling and establish confidence in the modified designs. We assess critical parameters that influence design decisions, and focus on their optimization through the modeling and experimental validation stages.

Fluid Dynamics Regimes

Problem statement: Identify the flow regime in each part of the system and determine the appropriate modeling approach for analyzing the flow dynamics.

Solution outline: Divide the system into regions, calculate the Knudsen number for each to identify the flow regime, and apply appropriate methods—Navier–Stokes for continuum/slip, hybrid models for transition, and molecular/statistical approaches for free molecular flow—then integrate the results for a complete system analysis.

Mass Flow dependencies

Problem statement:

Estimate the mass flow rate through a system based on geometry and ambient pressure.

Solution outline:
Use an iterative method combining the Knudsen equation and Clausing factors to account for rarefied gas effects and geometry-dependent conductance, leading to an analytical expression for mass flow.

Estimating Viscosity of Novel Materials Using Kinetic Theory and Molecular Parameters

Problem statement:

Estimate the viscosity of a novel material used in the process, for which no reliable published data currently exists.

Solution outline:

Apply kinetic theory of gases using thermal velocity at operating conditions and the known molecular diameter to estimate viscosity. Cross-reference results with data from similar materials to validate and increase confidence in the estimation.
